When the enemy shoots his fiery arrows, will you be ready?
You know how in movies that portray ancient battles, there would be archers that shoot flaming arrows over the city they're trying to capture? The soldiers on the inside of the city are so busy trying to put out fires that they're distracted from the enemy line that is advancing and trying to barge through the gate.
Well, it was a common tactic back in the day and Scripture says that there's a very similar strategy that the enemy uses against us. His fiery arrows are pointed at us so that we might be so busy chasing down little things that we forget the main thing.
We take our eyes off of Jesus because we're so busy putting out little fires. But God has given us armor to counter the enemy's strategy: the Shield of Faith.
